SOIL TESTING
SOIL TESTING
Soil testing is a valuable tool in determining the condition and needs of your soil. This can result in a savings in your fertilization program. Analysis includes cation exchange capacity (C.E.C) of your soil, pH, organic matter content, and levels of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium. It also includes the base saturation percentage for calcium, magnesium, potassium and hydrogen. Recommendations are made using natural products and include the amount and type of lime needed, if any. Take 8-10 probes of soil in area to be tested, mix together, and place approximately 1 pint of mixture in a plastic zip lock bag. Be sure to identify whether the test is for garden, lawn or field. If for field, also tell us what crop was planted last year and what crop will be planted this year. Allow at least two weeks for results. If you have questions, send for Soil Testing Information Sheet. Payment required with soil sample.
